And the Cameroon film industry is a typical example that Showcase's this cultural heritage where NIKITA NIKE, a talented, vibrant and inspiring young actress is carving out a great niche through her acting qualities.
Biydzeyuy Bertila K. who is from the North West region of the Cameroon's, started acting some few years back, but has caught the attention of both the francophone film producers and anglophones, with a great feedback. As she says in quotes "this has always been my childhood dream, though the tragic deaths of my parents and elder sister who was my motivating force affected me greatly".
But NIKITA NIKE, who is a one of a kind actress, never gave up on her passion for acting as she added "Acting is a natural thing with me, am a go-getter type of person... I draw inspiration from my personal life and different actors from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Hollywood, though we still have a long way to go!" (Laughs).

Notwithstanding, her endeavors landed her, her first acting role in the film "OBSTACLES OF DESTINY" by FON ALFRED. Followed by "ALL VENTURES" by Mr. NELLO, a TV series that is currently being aired on the Cameroon's national tv CRTV.
Furthermore, she did a short pitch movie entitled "THE PRICE", which was aimed at sensitizing young girls about the dangers of dating married men by DIBA J. " Blerk" and CHE WILLIAMS of the MELLOW STUDIOS.
NIKITA NIKE is currently working on a French film entitled "MICROSCOBE" by J.L MOUSSINGA of the (ATELIER 4). A cultural program and platform for actors, artists, film producers, training of actors & actress's, organisation of cultural events, live musical concerts, fashion parades, shows and talent scouting, located at the Bastos neighborhood in the Cameroon's capital city of Yaoundé. Where NIKITA'S acting skills were equally scouted or deniched.With more light, this film "MICROSCOBE" will be presented at one of the biggest Cameroon's film festival "LES ECRANS NOIRS".
Well, the Cameroon's film industry "per say" is still on a scale growth to international visibility. Though with its numerous challenges and shortcomings, the film industry is embodied with a handful of vibrant talents that just need good opportunities for them to prove their worth. As some argue that, the government of Cameroon does not really boost the film industry as individuals strive hard to produce better films that can challenge the international market.
As film producers and directors keep calling on the government to re-enforce their support to the film industry, as neighboring Nigeria and South Africa that are a pride to the African movie industry and other African countries are making it big to the international scenes and film competitions.
Well, nothwistanding Nigeria is considered the 3rd largest film production country in the world, just after America and India. Which should be an inspiration and a push and pull factor to other nations, as these countries too started somewhere to make it to the top.
