(OFFICIALLY REVEALED): TOP ~20 COUNTRIES~ WHERE MARIJUANA IS LEGALIZED.
The origins of plant name
Cannabis is from a Greek word (Kannabis) originally Scythian or Thracian and
Mexican (Marijuana, marihuana) first known use 1874. The Oxford English
Dictionary records the earliest usage of cannabis or marijuana meaning the
plant (common hemp, cannabis sativa) in 1548 meaning parts of the plant smoked,
chewed or drunk for their intoxicating or hallucinogenic properties in 1848.
Herodotus (440 B.C.E)
recorded the use of cannabis in The Histories. They took some of the flowers
and creeping under the felt coverings, throw it upon the red-hot stones as it
immediately smokes and gives out such a vapor as no Grecian vapor-bath could
exceed. As the Scythes delighted, shouted for joy.
Based upon archaeology
and linguistic history of cannabis, Elizabeth Wayland Barber concluded all
people across the middle of Europe and Asia including Indo-Europeans knew and
were using hemp since 5000 B.C.
By research from Carl
P. Ruck, Albert Hoffman, Richard Evans Schultes the “Etheogians” and “mycologist”
R.Gordon Wasson on the subject of Old Testament cannabis use explained: “There
can be little doubt a role for cannabis in Judaic religion...there is no way
that so important a plant as a fiber source for textiles and nutritive oils and
one so easy to grow would have gone unnoticed...the mere harvesting of it would
have induced an entheogenic reaction”. Carl P. Ruck furthered that “the easy
availability and long established tradition of cannabis in early
Judaism...would inevitably have included it in the “Christian” mixtures.
In the Bible New
testament, Jesus baptized none of his as it’s practiced by the Catholic Church,
but instead anointed them with this potent entheologenic oil, sending out the 12
apostles to do the same. (Mark 6:13) and (James 5:14)

Interestingly, cannabis
or marijuana has been shown to be effective in the constitute Klemens of not only
epilepsy, but many of the ailments that Jesus and the disciples healed people of,
such as skin diseases (Mathew 8, 10, 11/ Mark 1/ Luke 5, 7, 17) eye problems
(John 9:6-15) and menstrual problems (Luke 8:43-48).
Furthermore, one
Christian text, The Acts of Peter and the Twelve Apostles, which is older than
the New Testament estimated to have been recorded in the second century AD, has
Jesus giving the disciples an “ unguent box” and a “pouch full of medicine”
with instructions for them to go into the city and heal the sick. Jesus
explained that they must heal “the bodies first” before they can “heal the
heart”.
These findings are
quite surprising as the medical use of cannabis during that time is supported
by archaeological records. And the ailments described had been treated with
cannabis/marijuana preparations through the area for many centuries prior to
Christian era. As the new Testament explains; “The anointing you have received from
Him remains in you and you do not need anyone to teach you but as his anointing
teaches you about all things and as that anointing teaching is real, not
counterfeit...just as it has taught you, remain in him” (1 john 2:27).
But no one can
question the severity and consequences of marijuana and its devastating effects and impact
on youths worldwide. Academics suffer and even worse, use of marijuana undermine
health and destroy young lives. As the best education is to reach young people with
effective, fact based marijuana and even drug education before they even start
experimenting it.
Notwithstanding, these
are the top 20 countries around the world were the use of marijuana is
legalized.
1- Israel;
God’s own
chosen land is on a research program to decriminalize the use of “marijuana - weed”
for self pleasure. According to reports, it’s estimated that 9% of Israel’s
population use weed. The decriminalization process was announced by public
security minister Gilad Erdan. As Israelis will be allowed to possess up to 15 grams of weed. And if anybody is caught possessing more than the stipulated
limit, he or she will pay a fine of 1,000 Shekels and case not showed up on the
persons file or criminal record. Israel is one of the leading nations in
medical marijuana or weed research as it joined forces with other European and
North American countries to legalize cannabis/marijuana/weed.
2- Mexico;
The supreme court
of Mexico in 2015 ruled that growing, possessing, and smoking weed for
recreation is legal under the right to freedom. The measure was approved in a 4
to 1 vote on the five justice panel. Backing an argument that smoking weed is
covered under the right of “free development of personality”.
3- Czech Republic;
The Czech
Republic by law permits possession of up to 15 grams for personal use. Weed for
medical use on prescription has been legalised since April 2013.
4- Switzerland;
According
to laws governing the growth of weed on private property for personal usage by
adults is legal. Though buying and selling of marijuana is a strict criminal offense
and punishable by a fine.
The mountainous Central European country in 2013 legalised
marijuana for people off up to 18 – 10 grams or less. But there’s a fine if you’re
caught ($110). But it’s not implicated on your permanent record with no court appearance.
5- North Korea;
Yes! As surprising
at it seems, the growth, sell and consumption of weed in this communist nation
is legal and widely unregulated by the government. Note that it’s North Korea!
6- Uruguay;
You need to
be over 18 years of age in order to buy weed in Uruguay as it was legalised by
the president Jose Mujica. The law stipulates that for you to buy weed in
Uruguay, you need to be a citizen of that country and must register to the authorities.
And no law exist concerning the mandated quantity, rules for selling, transportation
and the cultivation of marijuana.
7- Argentina;
The possession
of marijuana is illegal in Argentina but legalised (sounds crazy right?). Well,
marijuana is legal for personal consumption in small quantities inside a
private property. While consumption for medical reasons is acceptable within a
private property, sale, transportation and cultivation is illegal by law. Does
making things very complicated to some people to understand its real legality.
8- Jamaica;
In this beautiful nation of Bob Marley where reggae music is food for the soul, growing, selling and consumption of marijuana is illegal. But the government decriminalized it in 2013 if one is found with a small amount. Whereas Jamaican’s are usually attributed with much consumption of weed.

9- Spain;
The Spanish
people have very complicated systems of drug laws but weed is not criminalized
as long as you smoke in private. Since the 90’s, if you are caught with banned
substances in public, you won’t be punished by jail term but you might get a
heavy fine of ($330). You could grow two plants for personal use, but buying or
carrying is illegal. In a creative way surrounding these seemingly
contradictory laws “private clubs” have flourished. Tourists watch out though!
10- Portugal;
Portugal has
decriminalize the possession and consumption of all drugs as long as you don’t have
more than a 10 day supply. If caught with small amount of it with you, you can
be forced to pay a fine or sent to a treatment center. But the European
monitoring center for drugs and drug addiction policy reports showed that the
law has led to a reduction in drug deaths and HIV cases.
11- Australia;
Unlike the
US, Australia has decriminalize marijuana in some states but opted to keep it a
more substantially punishable offense in other states.
12- Belgium;
As far as the
legality of marijuana is concerned, it’s only allowed if you grow one bedrocan
female plant and nothing else. Possession of any other is illegal.
13-Cambodia;
The use of
marijuana is widespread within the Khmer people and foreigners alike. As there
are places designated as “happy restaurants” in Phenom Penh, Siem Reap and
Sihanouk ville that publicly offer food cooked with weed.
14- Canada;
You have got
to really try hard to get in trouble for anything in Canada. But the least of
which is smoking weed. But if you walking down their high way smoking a joint
of weed and shouting “USA! USA” then be sure a passersby will likely offer you
a ride (Like seriously?).
15- Colombia;
In this
great nation of Pablo Escobar, Cannabis has actually been decriminalize in
Columbia since 1994 and up to 22 grams is fined under the eyes of the law. But
if caught with over 20 grams of cannabis, you will have to face some unpleasant
musical tune by the authorities.
16- Costa Rica;
A defacto decriminalization policy of possession has been upheld throughout the country and
there’s no minimum or maximum amount assigned as of yet.
17- Croatia;
selling
marijuana in Croatia is punishable by a mandatory prison sentence of three
years. So possessing a small amount of the drugs is only met with a light fine.
18- Ecuador;
In Ecuador, ten grams is the limit and if
caught selling, cultivating or transporting the stuff will get you in serious
trouble.
19- Estonia;
Pro-tip: Stick to the 7.5 gram possession limit or you will end up spending
five years in an Estonian jail. Do you want! Think again.
20-Nepal;
Marijuana is nothing new to Nepal. They have been using the plant centuries
back. Mostly in religious rituals that involve either drinking an infused
beverage, smoking the buds or harvesting and smoking the hash.
Additional countries include;
21- Netherlands
22- Pakistan
23- Peru
24- Russia
25- Ukraine
