The 20017 MTV Video Music Awards in a nutshell can be thamed as a political, dramatic and subliminal show of words and performances.
Hosted to the astonishment of many internuts by @KattyPerry, the event kick started with a mini-medley of songs by @KendrickLamar in color and style. Burning up the stage with eight nominations and seconded by @KatyPerry and @TheWeeknd with five nominations, @KendrickLamar finally went back home with six awards.

While @KattyPerry opened her stage with a video sketch about the moon feauting two astronaut's, backed with heavy subliminal images, while ranting a serious joke about her views on the state of world and current happenings that got things dramatic and politicised.

Hear her "Even in the Apocalypse, we deserve the best soundtrack". She said and introduced the daughter of the late king of pop, Paris Jackson, who presented the category for the Best Pop Video.
